BLM

#BLM tags on a classical facade in London, during the 2020 protests following the murder of George Floyd.

The building is the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Whitehall, a Grade I listed edifice designed in classical Palladian style by George Gilbert Scott in 1868. Besides the orderly, proportionate, stately columns, this facade features some allegorical figures which you can see if you zoom in on these photos, between the window arches: Science, Art, Agriculture, Manufacture. All were supported by Black Lives Matter tags on the pillars - how fitting and symbolic.

Taking place in public is fundamental to the affirmation of subjectivity. We must pay attention to the occupation of space.
